Many people who live on the island use the tram as their mode of transportation to and from the city:
Understandably, they don't like a lot of traffic on the island, and parking spots are at a minimum, so we parked in a garage and walked about a half-mile to their building:
Katie and Jayden were out in front. It was a perfect day weather-wise and otherwise!
The party room was very big and very nice. And it had a lot of separate areas with little conversation pits here and there (do people still say 'conversation pits'?) and a pool table that the kids had fun with:
And the rooftop was big and beautiful too, and the views were amazing!
And because it was such a beautiful day we got to enjoy it outside a lot:
(The rooftop flowers and plants were so pretty and a nice backdrop for Sophie!)
(And I love the 59th Street Bridge and the city views behind Baby Ray!)
Here's Susie and her granddaughter Zoe:
'Love this little one! She truly is a real live doll!
We all had lots of fun and enjoyed lots of delicious food!
Here's the Birthday Girl with Ellie:
We walked back to the car along the water and got to see a little more of the island:
Jayden and Katie stopped along the way to enjoy the park:
We spotted a black squirrel (I thought at first that it was a rat)!
And while the rest of us walked, EĆ³ghan got a free ride on Grandpa's back!
It was a wonderful day!
Enjoyed the photos of your wonderful day with family, Eileen. Your grandkids are growing up as fast as mine(did)!☺
ReplyDeleteIt looked like a wonderful day Eileen! The view from the roof was amazing. Really makes me miss city life. I think I would have been out there as much as possible too. It really looks like a neat place to live. Oh and I love seeing the family resemblance in all those beautiful babies!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Jillian! Love Di ♥
HI EILEEN - oh how I love your family gatherings, celebration and traditions too. Great pictures.

I have NEVER EVER seen a black squirrel. REALLY? I don't think I have ever heard of a black squirrel so I looked it up and there it was! I guess you are never too old to learn something new! Thanks! Oh the party looked like it was so fun. I so envy your big family and all the gatherings you have. Eileen...you will not survive if you move away from your family.....it is not happening!
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of Roosevelt Island. I find it all very interesting. How wide is it? I can't imagine living there, but how beautiful! Is housing more expensive there than in NYC? Did your niece live there during 911? Come to think of it she was probably a teenager living with her parents back then!
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing your little triplets! :)
Not sure how I missed this --- Oh, well. I had more time to look and take in the beauty of this island that I didn't know existed!!!! The cake was beautiful, too. And I loved seeing all those babies :) SOMEone(s) kept busy at the party, I'll bet! You must have been behind the camera, 'cause I don't think I saw YOU.
